Generic Body Found

Authorities responding to reports a suspicious vehicle found a dead body at the scene, Delaware State Police announced Wednesday.

According to police, troopers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Sudlersville Road, north of Hartly, around 9:40 a.m. on June 12, 2019, and found a "vehicle in the middle of a yard, surrounded by tall grass in a rural area."

A body and hazardous materials were located in the vehicle, police said, and multiple agencies responded to the scene, including EMS, three local fire departments, state police, DelDOT, and DNREC.

Sudlersville Road between Owls Nest Road and Downs Chapel Road was closed pending conclusion of an investigation, though police noted foul play was not suspected and there was nothing suspicious at this time.
