A 50-year-old Delaware City man was charged in connection to the armed robbery of a Fairfax gas station, Delaware State Police announced Thursday.
According to authorities, Lewis H. Pinkett 3rd, entered the Circle K at 1801 Concord Pike around 11:55 pm. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, and implied he had a weapon while demanding money from a clerk at the sales counter.
He was tied to a Chevrolet Venture minivan involved in the robbery, police said, and on Wednesday, January 22, troopers located the vehicle in the Duross Heights neighborhood. He was taken into custody, and authorities said a search of the van turned up evidence further linking him to the robbery.
Pinkett was charged with first-degree robbery and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $10,000 cash bond.
