Elena Delle Donne will stay in Washington after signing a four-year deal to stay with the WNBA Champion Mystics.

Delle Donne won her second WNBA MVP title while guiding Washington to their first league championship last summer.

The former Ursuline & Delaware star averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per season last year.

“Elena is the most impactful player in the history of the Washington Mystics and her commitment to us three years ago set the stage for us to make our championship run possible,” Head Coach and General Manager Mike Thibault said in a statement released by the team. “I am thrilled that she has signed with us for four more years and will lead us as we continue to build on the culture of excellence that we have established here in D.C. This is an exciting time to be a Mystics fan and we look forward to defending our title!”

Delle Donne is entering her fourth season in Washington after starting her career with the Chicago Sky following Delaware's run to the 2013 NCAA Sweet 16.
