Judge's Gavel

A citizen of the Dominican Republic will spend the next 20 years in prison for distributing fentanyl-laced heroin that killed a Newark man.

Emmanuel Jimenez, AKA Robin Cintron-Pratts, distributed the spiked heroin through two other men to Joel Davis, who died in February 2017, Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss' office announced.

Jimenez' distributors, James Briggs and Abdoulaye Diallo, were also convicted in the case--Briggs was sentenced to 10 years behind bars and Diallo is awaiting sentencing.

In a statement, Weiss said this case helped spark creation of the First State Overdose Task Force.
