A 19-year-old Dover man is facing aggravated menacing charges after he allegedly pulled out what appeared to the victims to be an assault rifle from his trunk and pointed it at them, Delaware State Police said Thursday.

According to authorities, Daevon C. Stratton was sitting outside his girlfriend's residence--next door to the victims--around 12 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, and was honking the horn for approximately 30 minutes.

Police said when the 29-year-old man and 27-year-old woman who lived next door went outside to ask him to stop honking the horn, he retrieved the weapon, then fled the area prior to police arrival.

Authorities said Stratton was taken into custody a short time late at his residence in the Kentwood Mobile Home Park. He was in possession of 9.68 grams of marijuana at the time, police said.

Stratton was charged with two counts aggravated menacing and possession of marijuana, and released on $10,100 unsecured bond.
