Dover police believe drugs and alcohol played a role in a single-car crash that killed two men and caused a power outage Sunday morning.

The men, ages 22 and 28, were traveling northbound on North DuPont Highway near Leipsic Road in Dover around 5 a.m. on November 10, 2019, when their car ran off the road and hit a utility pole, Dover police said.

North DuPont Highway was closed at the scene for about five hours, and electrical service was interrupted for customers in the area.

Police are withholding the names of the victims and other information about the crash until next of kin are notified.
