A woman and two children had to extricated from their SUV after getting broadsided at the intersection of Route 13 and Duck Creek Road in Smyrna.
The crash happened just after 9 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019.
Delaware State Police are investigating the crash, but preliminary reports indicate a car traveling southbound on Route 13 ran the red light and hit the SUV as it came off of Duck Creek Road.
The female driver of the SUV was flown to Christiana Hospital for the treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries, after being extricated by firefighters from Citizens Hose Company of Smyrna.
The two small children in her car were taken by ambulance to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.
The driver of the car was checked for minor injuries.
