Dover Police have charged a 14-year-old in connection to a home invasion where the juvenile allegedly shot a man four times, city authorities announced Tuesday.
According to police, Syrian Grant, of Ellendale, was connected to a January 12, 2020, home invasion in the 900 block of West North Street around 2:30 a.m. where multiple suspects demanded property from a 39-year-old male victim, then shot him four times.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Grant was tracked down in Milford by the Dover Police and U.S. Marshals First State Fugitive Task Force on Thursday, January 16, and was charged with first-degree assault, home invasion, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, wearing a disguise during commission of a felony, illegal gang participation, and second-degree conspiracy. He was committed to the Stevenson Detention Center in lieu of $91,000 secured bond.
Authorities advised additional arrests are possible.
