Wilmington Friends' Dani Nathan hits a kill against Wilmington Christian

Wilmington Friends' Dani Nathan has been named Delaware's High School Volleyball Player of the Year by the state's coaches.

Nathan, who signed to play volleyball at James Madison next fall, set the state's career kills record late in the season, helping guide the Quakers into the 2nd round of this year's state tournament.

She's joined on the 1st Team by a pair of fellow seniors: Wilmington Charter's Madeline Matheny and Tower Hill's Maddie Sachs.

Four juniors also earned top honors: Archmere's Julia Kochie, Ursuline's Cassidy Markel, Padua's Jess Molen, and Saint Mark's Savannah Seemans.

Newark Charter coach Jessica Waller was named Head Coach of the Year.
