Wilmington fire officials said crews had to quickly extinguish an engine fire after a car struck a home in the city.
According to officials, a motor vehicle struck a house at 1001 South Broom Street around 9:45 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019.
Firefighters arriving on scene found the car in the side of the home and quickly extinguished a fire they found occurring in the engine area before flames could spread to the residence.
The residence was occupied at the time of the crash, but there were no reported injuries.
The driver was transported to Christiana Hospital. The condition of the driver remains unknown. Wilmington Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. The residence did not sustain structural damage, officials said.
