Corinth Ford was chosen to represent Newark's second district on City Council after a convincing victory in a special election Tuesday.

Ford defeated Brenden Moore 165-20, in the race to replace Councilwoman Sharon Hughes, who died unexpectedly in September.

Ford has worked for the past 15 years as a project manager with AmeriHealth Caritas and is a 34-year resident of Newark.

She served on the 2021 Reapportionment Committee.
