Two out-of-state travelers were charged when a gun and drugs were recovered during a traffic stop, Wilmington Police announced Friday.

According to authorities, Davvar Odom, 22, of Morrow, Georgia, was operating a vehicle around 1:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of North Walnut Street when he failed to signal a turn and ran a red light.

During the stop, authorities said he was found to have outstanding warrants and was in possession of marijuana.

His passenger, 19-year-old Rahmir Williams, of Carrboro, North Carolina, was found in possession of a 9mm semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, police said.

Odom was charged with traffic violations and possession of marijuana, processed on the warrant, and released on his own recognizance.

Williams was charged with two counts possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, criminal impersonation, and possession of marijuana. He was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $12,500 secured bond.
