High-speed chase in Wilmington ends with 2 arrested

A high-speed chase through Wilmington ended in two arrests Friday night.

Wilmington Police Uniform Services Division was on proactive patrol in the area of 7th and Washington streets when they attempted to pull over a car with a fake licence plate just before midnight.

Deiantsy Davis refused to stop, and eventually crashed into a DART bus at the intersection on Second and Monroe streets.

When officers approached the car, they saw the gun in Davis' hand and when prompted, Davis dropped his weapon.

After removing both Davis and passenger Dauwud Coles from the car, officers also allegedly found 465 bags of heroin. They were both taken into custody and charged with drug possession.

Davis was also charged with weapon possession, failure to stop for a police officer signal, and numerous additional registration and traffic violations.
