A woman was seriously hurt in a crash in Newark Saturday night.
Newark Police said the crash occurred amid icy conditions on Christina Parkway (Route 4) between South College Avenue and Elkton Road on January 18, 2020, after light snow and freezing rain had fallen in the area.
Police said there are injuries associated with the crash. Paramedics and Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder as well as Cecil County EMS were sent to the scene for reports of entrapment.
Paramedics said a 56-year-old woman needed advanced life support care after suffering injuries to her leg. She was taken by ambulance to Christiana Hospital.
The Newark Police Department is investigating the crash.
The roadway was closed for a time for an investigation, clean-up as well as DelDOT's treatment of the icy roadway.
