Three Little Bakers Golf Course

A deed restriction change for a redevelopment plan for the Three Little Bakers property has been denied the New Castle County Land Use Department.

The Land Use Department said the applicant, the Onix Group, did not establish a viable way to manage and maintain the open space on the property over time.

The land use department also addressed community concerns in their recommendation for denial.

The community's main concerns included more traffic, the impact on schools which included overcrowding, drainage issues, and no plan for the preservation of the historic Klair House.

The plan will still go before New Castle County Council, but a super-majority of 10 votes would be needed for approval since land use does not support the deed restriction change.

If approved, the plan would be a 224 unit development that would add 28 single family detached lots, 76 townhouse lots, 24 twin lots and 96 apartments.
