A 20-year-old Lincoln man is heading to prison for life after being convicted of murdering a Smyrna man in May 2018, the Delaware Department of Justice announced Friday.

According to the DOJ, Ahmir Bailey and his co-defendant, 19-year-old Eugene Riley from Milford, got into an argument with Jameir Vann-Robinson after he and a friend left a house party along Mitscher Road in Dover.

Bailey and Riley fired several shots, one of which struck Vann-Robinson in the back fatally, according to officials.

The bullets had been stolen from a sporting good store a few days prior, authorities said.

Bailey was convicted by a jury of first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, shoplifting, and third-degree conspiracy, and by a judge of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and possession of ammunition by a person prohibited. He'll officially be sentenced in January.

Riley faces trial in December.
