A 21-year-old man caught a load of bird shot to the face after someone fired a shotgun at him in Dover Thursday night, city authorities announced Friday. 

According to Dover Police, the victim was jogging back to his residence in the unit block of Village Drive in The Hamlet  around 11:30 p.m. on June 7, 2018, when a vehicle approached with an unknown suspect hanging out the passenger window. 

The victim was hit with a load of bird shot, leaving several small pellets in his head and face. He was being treated at Kent General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A residence on Village Drive was also hit, causing minor property damage.
