A 35-year-old Maryland woman operating a vehicle with a 2-year-old in the car who killed a 73-year-old Middletown woman in a head-on crash while driving under the influence of drugs--for the third time--pled guilty to manslaughter and assault charges, Delaware Department of Justice officials announced Friday.
According to authorities, Michelle Park, of Earlville, was driving under the influence of drugs in March 2018 when she failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line, and struck a vehicle headlong, sending three people in the other vehicle to the hospital.
One of those victims was Gladys Arcuri, who died a few weeks after the crash.
She pled guilty to manslaughter, two counts first-degree assault, driving under the influence-third offense, and failure to use proper child restraint. She'll be sentenced in August.
