Police have tracked down a 35-year-old Maryland man to Philadelphia and charged him with first-degree murder in connection to a fatal shooting at a Wilton-area condominium.
According to New Castle County Police, Ervin Christy Jr., of Chestertown, shot and killed 37-year-old Cornelius Wright around 6:50 p.m. on December 31, 2019, in the unit block of Willings Way at the Ashton Condominiums community.
Wright was shot multiple times and was pronounced deceased at an area hospital following the shooting.
Christy was indicted by a grand jury on February 3, 2020, and tracked down to Philadelphia with assistance from Philadelphia Police and federal agents, authorities said. He was arrested Thursday, February 6, and charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, first-degree attempted robbery, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and second-degree conspiracy.
He is currently being detained in Pennsylvania without bond, pending extradition to Delaware.
