It was more than six years ago, on June 7, 2013, when Anthony Berry was fatally shot in northeast Wilmington and another victim was wounded.
Now, Wilmington Police have announced the arrests of two men they said are tied to the crime.
Maleke Brittingham, 28, and Anthony Dale, 30, have been charged with murder and attempted murder.
Brittingham is being held on $2 million cash bail at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after Wilmington police officers pulled him over late last month and he was subsequently indicted.
Dale was already behind bars on unrelated charges.
"The two arrests in this cold case are a prime example of the tireless efforts of our investigators to bring justice in every case,” said Wilmington Police Chief Robert Tracy. “I am proud of the efforts of our Cold Case Unit, and the passion and dedication they bring to these unsolved cases.”
