Cabela's at the Christiana Mall is giving you a chance to honor the Wilmington firefighters who died or were injured in last Saturday's fire.

Through Sunday, you can either sign an in-store banner or write a note of condolence and support.

"We wanted to support the firefighters in our community," said Eric Williams, Retail Marketing Manager at the Christiana Cabela's. "Delaware is such a small, close-knit community, we wanted to show that people had a way to share their grief, share their sympathy and their support for the firemen. So, we figured this was a good way for everyday people who can't go to some of the official ceremonies to come in and sign the banner and show their support."

Last Saturday's tragedy hit home for those at Cabela's.

"We have military, police, fire, first responders always in our store shopping, and we have several firefighters who work here. Our HR administrator, her husband is a city firefighter, and (he) knew all of the people involved in (last) weekend's tragedy," said Williams.

A fundraising event takes place Saturday with a cookout, and all of the proceeds will go to the fund set up by the Wilmington Fire Department.

You can visit the store Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to sign the banner and/or write a note of condolence and support.

Saturday's cookout starts at 10 a.m.
