A 43-year-old Wilmington man was in serous condition after being struck while crossing the street in Brandywine Hundred Sunday night, Delaware State Police announced Monday. 

According to authorities, the man was crossing the street from the F and N Shopping Center at 2094 Naamans Road when a Chevrolet Express Van was exiting the shopping center parking lot and struck the pedestrian.

The van operator, a 47-year-old Wilmington man, was cited for failure to have required insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. 

The pedestrian was transported to Christiana Hospital and cited for failure to carry a light on a public roadway and crossing at any place except a marked crosswalk.
