Train service on the busy Northeast Corridor for both Amtrak and Septa south of Philadelphia was suspended for a time this morning due to a smoky, multi-alarm fire in the city on Thursday February 22, 2018.

The blaze was reported at Island and Paschall Avenues adjacent to railroad tracks shortly after 10 a.m. and went to three alarms before being declared under control around 12:40 p.m.

A number of trains on both platforms were delayed and at least one was cancelled as a result of the fire.
