A 42-year-old man is hospitalized after a shooting in Cecil County that police say may have been sparked by road rage.

The shooting happened overnight in the area of North East Road and Pulaski Highway, and when troopers arrived on-scene, the shooter told them he shot the victim, who was himself holding a gun as he walked up to the shooter's car, Maryland State Police said.

The shooter is in custody, but no charges have been filed at this point.

The victim was airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he's in stable condition.
