One man is in custody and two remained at large following an assault at a liquor store earlier in October, Delaware State Police announced Monday.
According to authorities, Shykara Shell, 22, and Kahlef Smith, 18, both of New Castle, are the suspects who remained wanted for an assault at Collins Park Liquors at 226 New Castle Avenue on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, around 9:20 p.m.
Police said the pair, along with 19-year-old Lyshone Glascoe, began arguing with two employees after Shell attempted to shoplift merchandise.
When the confrontation turned physical, police said all three suspects began punching the victims, and Shell used a shard or glass from a liquor store bottle broken during the altercation to stab one of the victims in the neck and the other in the shoulder, causing serious injuries.
The suspects broke a glass window at the store upon fleeing, police said.
Glascoe was arrested at the time of the incident. Shell and Smith remain wanted, each on charges of two counts second-degree assault, third-degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Delaware State Police at 302.834.2620 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1.800.TIP.3333.
