Delaware State Police say a Pennsylvania man, who may have been on drugs, ran a red light and killed a man in another car along Route 40 on Sunday afternoon, June 18, 2017.

Troopers say 25-year old William German of Garnet Valley was speeding eastbound when he blew the light at Glendale Boulevard and plowed into a car turning legally off of westbound Route 40.

The 74-year old victim, identified by police Monday, June 19, 2017, as John Crothers, was extricated by Christiana firefighters but died at Christiana Hospital.  The 61-year old female driver of that car is in serious condition.

Police say when German is released from the hospital he faces charges of vehicular homicide.
