A 44-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child east of Mill Creek in August 2019, New Castle County Police announced Wednesday. 

According to authorities, David Seeney was identified as a suspect connected to a sexual assault against a child reported on August 10, 2019, in the Spice Mill Run community in the Brandywine Springs area, and on December 6, 2019, warrants were sworn for his arrest. 

Seeney was located in Florida and taken into custody and, on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, he was extradited to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with the following felony-level crimes: first-degree rape of a victim less than 12 years old and defendants is 18 years or older, dangerous crime against a minor under 14-criminal sexual contact, sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust, and two counts unlawful sexual contact. He was committed to the custody of the Delaware Department of Correction in lieu of $215,000 cash bond.
