A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested in Bloomington, Indiana, in connection to a Dover July 4th shooting, city authorities announced Monday. 

According to Dover Police, the teen was involved in a burglary that turned into a shooting in Dover on July 4, 2019, when a homeowner arrived to find Jason Brittingham, 18, and two juveniles ransacking his residence. 

After the victim confronted the suspects, he gave chase as they fled his residence, when Brittingham fired a gun that struck the victim in his left side, police said. According to authorities, the victim was able to identify two of the suspects, who were previously known to him. 

The teen is awaiting extradition on charges of second-degree burglary, second-degree assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, first-degree reckless endangering, criminal mischief, second-degree conspiracy, gang participation, and theft under $1,500.
