Caravel's senior class of baseball players will not know what it's like to not play in the DIAA Baseball Championship Game.
For the 4th straight season, the Bucs reached the title game with a 5-1 victory over Salesianum, setting up a date Sunday night at 7 p.m. against undefeated Appoquinimink.
Ace Kevin Keister had to work around trouble most of the night, but only allowed one unearned run in 6 innings of work before Cole Reynolds struck out the side in the 7th to lock the win in a non-save situation.
Ethan DeRegis gave Caravel the lead for good in the first inning, as he singled in Kevin Keister for the opening run of the game.
The score remained 1-0 into the 3rd, when Cole Reynolds hit a sacrifice fly, followed by RBI hits from Adam Slavin and Jakob Hoffman to push the lead to 4-0.
Salesianum starter Alex Hinton helped his own cause with an RBI single to left in the 4th, but that was the only run the Sals could manage on the evening.
Caravel added one more run on a wild pitch in the 5th, as they'll get ready for Sunday's championship game.
Dominic Ragazzo had a triple and two walks for Salesianum.
