On Monday, Dover Police released surveillance footage of a vehicle suspected to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 21-year-old Dover man Friday.

According to authorities, a black male driving the dark-colored vehicle in the images killed Brandon Pleines around 8:5-0 p.m. on July 5, 2019, when it attempted to merged into the right lane and struck Pleines' vehicle along Forrest Avenue approaching Independence Boulevard.

The collision forced Pleines vehicle into the curb, flipping Pleines' vehicle and causing it to roll several times, striking a light pole and a mailbox in the process. A passenger in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The suspect turned the lights off on his vehicle and fled the area.
