Smyrna wins Unified Flag Football Championship

The Eagles of Smyrna defeated Newark Charter 26-12 in the Unified Flag Football Championship at the University of Delaware.

Smyrna would win the coin toss but defer to the second half.

Smyrna would get on the board first as Jakir Hampton would find Sara Miller in the end zone for a touchdown giving the Eagles a 6-0 lead.

Newark Charter would tie the game at 6 with a 30 yard spectacular catch by Yuval Griffin.

With just under 4 minutes left in the half, Smyrna would get on the board again as Jakir Hampton scored. They would go for 2 and convert as Jakir Hampton got it to Ishmael Reynolds. The score would be 14-6 at the break.

Early in the second half, Smyrna would go up 20-6 as Jakir Hampton would get it to Keith Demby who would go 20 yards for the score.

Newark Charter would close the gap to 8 midway through the half as Ryan Wilson connected with Jordan Wyatt for a 26 yard scoring strike.

Smyrna would get one more score by Jakir Hampton sealing the victory for the Eagles.

A big congrats to Newark Charter as well for also having a successful season.
