An 18-year-old man wanted on gun charges by Delaware State Police was arrested in Dover for carrying a gun with an obliterated serial number, city authorities announced Monday. 

According to Dover Police, Dakota Borntreger was spotted in the 200 block of South DuPont Highway by officers who discovered he was wanted by state authorities. 

He was stopped and found to be in possession of a 9mm handgun with a ruined serial number, 

Bortreger was taken into custody without incident and charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, two counts possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $20,000 secured bond.
