An emu that had been on the loose in Sussex County for the past month has been captured.
Three Palms Zoo said the emu was located in the confines of the playground at West Seaford Elementary School Saturday.
Zoo officials aided in its capture along with the Seaford Police, and the Delaware Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Delaware Department of Agriculture, and Delaware Animal Services.
The emu is safe with access to food and water, Three Palms Zoo said on Facebook. The organization is working to find the bird's owner.
