An adult and two children were displaced by a house fire in Wilmington Sunday night, city fire officials announced Monday.

According to authorities, the fire at 1031 Clifford Brown Walk started around 8 p.m. on June 16, 2019, in a second-floor rear bedroom. The residents were able to escape prior to the fire department arriving, but the home sustained moderate fire and heavy smoke damage, officials said.

The Wilmington Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
