A Wilmington man was charged after Dover Police said they discovered 650 bags of heroin in an area where he was trying to hide from officers. 

According to authorities, 28-year-old Kwame Redmond fled from officers in the area of East Loockerman and South New streets around 12:05 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019. 

A check of the location where he attempted to hide turned up the 650 bags of heroin, police said.

He was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of heroin, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, and drug paraphernalia. Redmond was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $62,000 cash bond.
