A Wilmington man has been charged in an incident where he and a victim exchanged gunfire inside a Middletown home, which left both individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, authorities announced Tuesday.
According to Middletown Police, Howard Watkins, 20, was involved in and determined to be the aggressor in a shooting with a 24-year-old victim at 3:06 p.m. on January 17, 2018, in the 100 block of East Lockwood Street. Both Watkins and the victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Watkins was charged with first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony, home invasion, attempted robbery, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $260,000 secured bond.
