A 32-year-old man has been charged in connection to a fatal weekend stabbing, Wilmington Police announced Tuesday. 

Authorities said 32-year-old Deshawn Burton was the suspect who stabbed and killed 44-year-old Jerrell Booker on June 22, 2019, around 4 a.m. in the area of 2nd and Walnut streets. 

Burton was located and arrested by members of the Street Crimes Unit and U.S. Marhsal's Task Force in the area of 5th and West streets on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. 

He was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony, and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $750,000 cash-only bond.
