DMA's Corahn Alleyne scored 3 touchdowns and a two-pont conversion to pace the Seahawks to a crucial 20-14 win at Saint Mark's Friday night.
Riding a 3-game losing streak, it was a must-win for DMA, and Alleyne took a big stride towards the win as he bounced outside to his left for a 63-yard touchdown, just stretching out to the pylon.
Both defenses would keep the opposition in check going into halftime, and it continued into the 3rd quarter as Saint Mark's linebacker Devon Jones made a lay-out diving inception early in the 3rd.
DMA would get it back, and march down the field to set up Alleyne's second score of the game from 3-yards away to double the lead to 12-0.
After Saint Mark's was stymied on their next drive, Alleyne returned a punt to midfield, which set up another 3-yard score, and this time he converted the 2, to go up 20-0.
Saint Mark's quarterback Jelani Bryant then took advantage of DMA's softer coverage, as he broke free for touchdown runs of 67 and 30 yards to get within 20-14 with :31 to go in the game.
Eric Ludman would hit an onside kick that got a good bounce, but one of his teammates touched the ball before the 10-yards, and that put an end to the proceedings.
DMA (4-3) righted their ship at a good time, as they prepare for the "Military Bowl" against First State Military Academy Saturday night at 7pm at Baynard Stadium.
Saint Mark's dropped to 4-3, and their schedule doesn't get any easier with Woodbridge and Saint Elizabeth coming to Milltown over the next 2 weeks, before battling Salesianum to wrap up their regular season.
