Concord's Adam Tommer looks back after scoring a run against A.I. duPont

Concord's Cade Pfander drove in two runs as Concord baseball completed a 2-team doubleheader sweep with a 3-2 win over A.I. duPont.

After defeating Dickinson 10-0 in their opening game, A.I. duPont took the field, creating a match-up of 1-loss squads.

Concord struck first as they used a pair of singles and an error to take the lead, only to have A.I. duPont get the run back in the top of the 2nd on a fielder's choice that led Logan Evans cross the plate.

The Raiders took the lead for good in the bottom half of the frame, as Connor Smith's lead-off single set up Pfander for a single to left that put the Raiders ahead.

Adam Tommer led off the 4th with a double to left, and after Luke Gabrysh's bunt single, it was Pfander hitting a bloop to shallow right that allowed Tommer to race home with the third run.

A.I. would claw back to within a run when Evans led off the 6th with a triple to the right-centerfield gap, eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly.

Concord's Brian Downey was able to shot the door, retiring the last 6 batters he faced, including two strikeouts in the 7th to lock in the save.

Gabrysh earned the victory, allowing just one unearned run in 5 innings of 3-hit baseball. He struckout 5 Tigers.

Joe Orsini tossed a complete game for A.I. duPont, picking up a pair of strikeouts, while only being charged with 2 earned runs.

Concord (9-1) will ride their 6-game win streak to Delcastle, where they'll take on the Cougers tomorrow at 11 a.m.

A.I. duPont (7-2) saw their own 6-game win streak come to an end, they'll play Appoquinimink at Frawley Stadium Saturday at noon.
