William Davis scores for Wilmington Friends in victory over Tower Hill

Friends came away with a 10-3 victory on a cold & windy Saturday over Tower Hill.

Tower Hill would win the toss and defer to the second half.

Early on it became clear this would be a defensive battle between the two teams all day long.

Friends first two possessions and Tower Hill's first all resulted in punts.

On Tower Hill's second they would get a solid drive, starting at their own 36. It would end with a 23 yard Field Goal with 0:23 left in the first quarter giving the Hillers a 3-0 lead.

In the second quarter both teams would continue to struggle offensively. However, as the half was coming to a close Friends would drive from their own 31 to deep into Tower Hill's end of the field. The Hillers DJ Scott would make a nice play and record an interception with 0:41 seconds left in the half keeping Friends off the board.

The score would be 3-0 Tower Hill at the break.

Friends would tie the game at 3 in the third quarter as Jacob Jaworski hit a 31 yard Field Goal with 6:27 left.

Friends would then break the tie in the fourth as Peyton McNeil connected with William Davis for a 32 yard touchdown with 5:32 left in the game for the winning score.

With the win Friends claims the Independent Conference Title and finishes the year at 8-1 and winning 5 straight.

Official DIAA tournament brackets will be announced Sunday, November 11th.
