Salesianum will play for a 14th Delaware High School Boys Volleyball title after sweeping Wilmington Charter Monday afternoon.
Salesianum claimed the opening set 25-15, but found themselves in a battle in the second against a team that took them to 4 sets in the regular season.
Peter Dolan gave the Sals a 13-9 lead midway through the set, but it was kills from Michael Steinetz, Matt Watmuff, and Kevin Coates that kept Wilmington Charter's gritty defense at bay.
Charter tied the game at 23-all, but Salesianum won the final two points to take the set.
Tomasz Mroz led the Force on one last push, but Salesianum went on to clitch the match with a 25-16 finale.
Final stats were not available at the time of this writing.
Salesianum will face undefeated Indian River, a 3-0 winner over Conrad, in Wednesday's state championship Wednesday at 6:30 at Dickinson.
The Indians won the regular-season meeting in four sets, it was Salesianum's first in-state loss since the 2015 State Championship match to Wilmington Charter.
