Three people were injured, two seriously, in a crash on northbound Concord Pike at the south entrance to the Concord Mall Tuesday.

The collision between a small car and a stake body truck happened just after 1 p.m. on July 9, 2019, and it took Talleyville firefighters about a half-hour to extricate all three victims.

Two of those hurt were treated at the scene by New Castle County paramedics and a Delaware State Police trooper medic for serious, but non-life threatening injuries before taken by ambulance to hospitals.

The third was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

A Delaware State Police helicopter landed in the nearby Sears parking lot but was not utilized.

State troopers say their preliminary investigation shows the truck failed to stop at a red light and plowed into the side of the car which was turning out of the mall and onto southbound Route 202.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
